Artist Viktor was born in 1954 in the village of Nikolskoye, Zhytomyr. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic and was sent to work in Ivanovo, Russia.  He initially worked as a successful architect until 1981. From 1981 to 1990 he held the post of Chief Artist of the City of Ivanovo.  From 1990 to 2002, he worked privately as an architect.  Viktor successfully combined and developed his love of painting with his architectural training to produce not just art, but a life’s direction.

Delicate lines meet bold strokes and color to create a transparent texture that is almost a soft blanket over the images he paints. As buildings reach up from the green grasses and peek from behind whispering pines and deep-rooted Russian oaks, they stand architecturally perfect with minimal details and an abundance of light.

“I like something that requires skill and develops as a result of sufficient time. The creative process is not easy. Sometimes you start to draw one picture, and the result is quite different. From time to time you need to take a break and then return to creating when you have the urge and the desire”.

Time often presents itself to Viktor as he stands in front of a creation deciding if the painting should be human form or architecture. His flexibility between fluid lines and construction is remarkable, and is the result of years of practice and development of a skill that escapes many other artists.

While working in Russia, he was a member of numerous international exhibitions.  In 2002, Viktor returned to Western Ukraine, where to this day he continues to create wonderful figurative paintings, and landscape paintings of Ukraine.

Viktor’s abilities to capture emotion and feelings while staying true to the rules of engaging art are but a few reasons that French Art Network is delighted to bring Viktor’s work to walls of its galleries in New Orleans and Carmel by the Sea, California.
